About Dr. Jamil David

Dr. Jamil David graduated from the Manipal College of Dental Sciences, Mangalore, India (www.manipal.edu). After a brief stint in a rural private dental practice, he proceeded to accomplish his Masters in Dental Public Health from the prestigious Barts and Royal London School of Medicine and Dentistry, Queen Mary & Westfield, University of London (www.smd.qmul.ac.uk). Subsequently, he worked as a Research Fellow at the St. Leonard's Primary Care Centre, Hackney, London. To widen his experience of working in rural health-care settings, Dr. David joined Universities in Nepal and Malaysia (click here), and soon secured a scholarship to pursue his doctorate studies in dental health at the University of Bergen, Norway (www.cih.uib.no). During his doctorate, he had the distinctive opportunity of being selected and trained at the Department of Dental Public Health, University of Washington, Seattle (www.dental.washington.edu). To further his academic career, he later joined the Centre for International Health, University of Bergen, as a Lecturer, soon progressing to the position of an Associate Professor at the Centre.

Dr. David collaborates with academics and researchers globally, and is currently involved in various research activities in India, Nepal, Sudan and Tanzania. His dedication to improve the oral health of people in resource-poor nations has gained him International accolades, including a prestigious grant from Colgate/Palmolive, Piscataway, USA. He has an excellent academic track record with several scientific publications in International journals (click here) and numerous oral and poster presentations (click here). Recently, Dr. David along with other members of International Association of Dental Research, USA, conducted research seminars in the USA and India (click here), with a view to initiate and stimulate research activities in dental schools in India.
