Surgical Revision Course, Cardiff, UK (June, 2007) Doctors Academy are pleased to announce that 105 out of the 109 final year medical students who attended the above course passed (96%) their final exam and graduated as Doctors on 11th July, 2007. They are currently employed as Junior Doctors (Foundation Programme Year 1; FP1) in various hospitals within the UK National Health Service.
Some course feedback from students: “The weekend but one before our exams was well spent as a result of attending this course. Being taught (the basics and beyond) by specialists gave me confidence in tackling the more difficult questions at the final exam. The course gathered momentum as it became more interactive with shared enthusiasm that we rarely see in medical school lectures. Having the opportunity to unravel the sequence of clinical examinations into individual steps and put them together again was very satisfying. I am grateful to Doctors Academy for conducting this course”
Dr Angharad Pritchard-Copley
Foundation Year 1 Trainee
Princess of Wales Hospital, Bridgend, UK“Brilliant! The course covered almost everything you ever need to know about surgery as a final year medic. Tutors are friendly and approachable, and always willing to answer questions and clarify doubts. The on-line EMQs and MCQs were excellent revision tools and the individualized OSCE tutorials offered a great platform for us to recognize our weakness. This course really prepared me well for the final challenge and was certainly worth attending. Thank you so much!”
Dr Michelle Tang
Foundation Year 1 Trainee
Morriston Hospital, Swansea, UK“The course was very useful. You covered a range of topics relevant for the medical finals. What I found especially useful was the demonstration of clinical examination techniques. Not only were we shown in detail about the clinical examination of the various individual systems, but we also had the opportunity to perform and enhance our clinical examination skills with other exam-going students, supervised by the tutors. The duration and content of lectures by the different tutors were excellent, and highlighted important points relevant for the finals. Besides, the course fee was modest. Thanks a lot to Mr Enoch, Mr. Conway, Miss Lefemine and Miss Carpenter for organising the course”.
Dr Peter Ho
